Police Charge Keller Man For Wife's Murder

KELLER (CBS 11 News) ― Tuesday, April 3, Richard Sandlin was officially charged with the murder of his wife Donna.

Documents released by police and the Tarrant County Medical Examiner reveal Donna was strangled. She also had bruises on her scalp, arms and legs. Police are also closer to finding a motive in the case.

Initial news of the arrest of Richard, an area district manager with a Tarrant County company, spread quickly throughout the area. His business associates said they were shocked to learn that Sandlin is accused of killing his wife.

They said the area district manager called on stores in Denver, which may explain how he was having an affair with a woman in that city, say his associates.

"He told us he was seeing somebody... but we don't think she is involved," said Lt. Brenda Slovak, Keller Police Department. "We have no plans to travel to Denver to interview her." Police have talked to her by phone.

Police documents confirm they found Donna Sandlin's wallet with her credit cards in the couple's house in the attic. Investigators also removed a section of carpet stained with blood from the master bedroom.
