Fort Hood Soldier Dies In Iraq Roadside Bombing

(AP) The Pentagon has identified a soldier killed in a roadside bombing in Balad, Iraq, as a 22-year-old Fort Hood soldier.

A Defense Department statement issued Friday says Army Spc. Vincent A. Madero of Port Hueneme, Calif., died Wednesday when the bomb exploded near his Humvee.

He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division from Fort Hood.
