Family Accepting Reality In Search For Woman

Melissa Newton
EULESS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Her picture still hangs on light poles in Euless, but Kristen Charbonneau has not been seen since August 2005.

"We just don't believe she's alive," her mother Monica said, "if we did we'd be looking different places."

Volunteers from United Response Search and Rescue have now joined the quest to find Kristen.  They'll search an undisclosed location Saturday, where they believe her body may be.

"I think you just have to put yourself in that family's position," Dana Ames, Operations Director for URSAR said, "ask yourself what would you what to happen if it were your loved one?"

Kristen was last seen leaving Baby Dolls, a gentlemen's club where she worked as a dancer.  Her disappearance is still considered a missing person's case, but her parents have already come to terms with what they'll be looking for Saturday.

"Am I going to walk up, or someone going to walk up on my daughter's skeleton," Kristen's father David worried, "Are we going to find human bones?"

It's a fear the Holbrook family, of Irving, is very familiar with.  Jimmy Holbrook disappeared in 2004, and thanks to URSAR, his remains were found nine months later.

"I thank God everyday for them," his widow Diane said.  The family now volunteers for the organization, hoping to give other's the closure that they have finally received.

"We get to talk to the families and let them know, we know what you're going through." Diane said, "It's been a blessing."

URSAR is looking for volunteers to help with the search for Kristen Charbonneau and others. Those interested can contact them through their website for details.
