Terrell Police Verify Identity Of Amnesia Victim
TERRELL (CBS 11 News/AP) ―
Good news out of Terrell where police announced that an amnesia victim has been identified as a woman reported missing in Tennessee.
Authorities say she's 40-year-old Stacy Forbes of Lake City, Tennessee.
On Monday, CBS 11 News reported on the unidentified woman, giving relevant information and showing her picture.
Terrell police say Forbes spent time in Dallas prior to the incident that physicians described as amnesia. Forbes was found in Dallas on July 18th, and taken to Parkland Hospital.
After being diagnosed with amnesia she was taken to the Terrell State Hospital.
The ID of Forbes has been verified by relatives, employers and other witnesses. Further details about where she's from in Tennessee weren't immediately released.
She'd been reported missing in early July.
Police say Forbes, when told of her name, still didn't remember who she is.
From the very beginning Terrell Police Sgt. Ken McKeown said the case was one of the most unusual he'd ever worked. "I've been with Terrell police a little over 14 years and this is the first time I've ever been asked to try and identify an individual who has amnesia."
