Mayfest Celebrates Highest Attendance In Decade

FORT WORTH (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Organizers say this is the busiest Mayfest has been in 10 years. They thank the weather for that but they also say a lot of people showed up Saturday to see the Gin Blossoms in concert.

Pre-concert, one of the biggest attractions on Saturday was the world-famous Frisbee dogs.

Don't forget the pig races where an Oreo cookie is the main prize.

Another unique feature of Mayfest is the fence art created by local entrepreneur Randall Hunt. He came up with the idea for snap-on tiles about 5 ½ years ago after watching high school students trying to decorate their school fences with Styrofoam cups.

"It's crazy. I love it. There are so many people taking pictures with it. It's a good feeling," the creator of Put In Cups said.

Now, he's creating designs for clients all over the world.

"I've sold to all 50 states. The furthest I sold to is Italy."

Mayfest continues from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
