Mesquite Police Chase Leads To Multi-Car Wreck

MESQUITE (CBS 11 News) ― A police chase led to a multi-vehicle crash today in Mesquite. It happened about 1 p.m. when officers were chasing a car.

The suspect's vehicle was speeding down Town East Boulevard when it crossed into oncoming traffic, struck a vehicle head on and then was struck by two other cars.

Seven patients were transported in six ambulances to various local hospitals.

A police official tells us they were chasing the vehicle after observing it in a minor hit and run accident.

No word on the condition of the people involved.

The suspect was also taken to the hospital.
