Winning Coach In 100-0 Basketball Game Speaks Out
Newspaper Reporting Coach Has Been Fired By School
DALLAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ―
The winning coach involved in a 100-0 girl's high school basketball game earlier this month is now telling his side of the story.
The Covenant School girls basketball coach Coach Micah Grimes, along with girls from his team, have released a statement on the website of the
Flight Basketball Academy.
Coach Grimes says he respectfully disagrees with the position by the school to apologize for the 100-0 January 13 win over Dallas Academy, saying the negativity towards he and his team has been unfair. Many of the players on the team also mention how they have been treated in the community since the story gained national attention.
Grimes ends with his acknowledgement that he could lose his job over his statement, but says that if he does he "will be able to walk away with his integrity".

On Sunday afternoon the online edition of the
Dallas Morning News reported Coach Grimes had been released from his duties at The Covenant School. Calls by CBS 11 to Covenant's head of school have not been returned.
