Crime Alert After 2 Sexual Attacks In Oak Lawn

DALLAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Matt Musselman and Lauren Stimmel live near the scene of a recent sexual attack in Oak Lawn.



As they walked their dogs on Monday, they admitted the possible sexual predator has them taking extra security precautions.

  The first attack happened on Dec. 23 at an apartment complex in the 4000 block of Bowser.

The second one followed on Jan. 5 at an apartment complex in the 4700 block of Cedar Springs.

According to police, the rapist used a deadly weapon in both incidents. In one of the sexual assaults, police say he used a gun. In the other, the rapist put a knife to his victim's neck.



Dallas Police say this is not the work of the long sought-after North Texas serial rapist, however, but believe the same man is responsible because of the description given by the victims and   the close proximity of the rapes.

Officials do not know if the women were stalked, but said they were alone in their apartments.
