One Tank Trip: Dinosaur Valley

(CBS 11 News) It is summer and that means vacations. However, with the economy in flux and gas prices at $4 a gallon, many people are staying close to home.

One of the local attractions families can enjoy is Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose.

Each year people come to take in the three-miles of water frontage on the Paluxy River and the 1600 acres of wildflower-filled parklands, which include hiking and biking trails.

Families can camp, hike along the dinosaur tracks, swim, cook out, fish or simply kick up their heels and enjoy the surroundings.

Admission to the park for people 13 and older is $5. Kids 12 and under get in free.

Backpack campsites are $12 per night. Campsites with electric and water hookups cost $25 a night.
