Police: Man Robbed Pizza Shop Where Daughter Works

Officers Say Woman Knew Nothing Of Family's Plot

DENTON (CBS 11 News/AP) ― No charges are expected against a pizza restaurant clerk whose parents and husband were charged with robbing the place where she works.

Stephanie Martinez reportedly didn't know the three planned to rob the Pizza Patron Friday night in Denton.

Police say while the robbery was in progress, Martinez discovered her father was the robber when another clerk struck him, knocking him out and knocking off his wig and sunglasses. He was later apprehended after witnesses followed the getaway pickup.

We talked to Martinez Tuesday.  She said as her fellow clerk was attacking the would-be crook, she pleaded with him to stop.  "I'm like, 'Stop, Rudy, stop it!'  And that's when he's like, 'Why, who is it?'  And that's when I was like, I just looked at him in the face and I told him, 'That's my dad.'"

Sgt. James Brett says Martinez's husband told them she didn't know about the robbery. He says he knew they were going to rob someplace but he thought it was going to be a convenience store.

Authorities charged 26-year-old Jose Miguel Martinez with aggravated robbery and he's free on $50,000 bail. Forty-one-year-old Benjamin Ramirez and 38-year-old Sonia Palacios are both charged with aggravated robbery.

Bail was set at $50,000 each, but they are being held without bail on immigration violations.
