Police: Baby Died At Illegal Plano Home Daycare

PLANO (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Plano police are investigating the death of a two-month-old baby boy at a home that was operating illegally as a daycare.

Police responded to the home on the 3600 block of Campstone Drive yesterday afternoon. Paramedics performed CPR, but the baby was pronounced dead at the home.

According to the Child Care Licensing division of Department of Family and Protective Services, the daycare was not licensed. As many as eight childen under the age of two were being cared for. The facility has been ordered to shut down.  An autopsy is being performed to determine what caused the baby's death.

Parents can learn whether a daycare is licensed at www.dontbeinthedark.org, which is run by the State of Texas.
