Monday, Geoff and Christy Hart's parents, Norma and Jim Hart and Bill and Kathy McDonald, released the following statement:
"We are still trying to comprehend the death of our beloved son, daughter and granddaughter on Sunday morning. As we walk through this incredible grief, the outpouring of love from Custer Road United Methodist Church and the community that they called home for 18 years is a great comfort to us.
Our family also included the foster children whom Geoff and Christy loved. Our hearts break for the loss of those two young daughters.
Geoff, Christy and Rebekah were loved by so many. What a privilege it has been for us to share them with so many other people. We want to thank all who knew them and cared for them, as well as strangers who have been touched by the testimony of their lives.
Even in the midst of this tragedy, we believe like Geoff, Christy and Rebekah did that God is faithful and God is good, and he will use this event for his glory.
Other survivors:
Christy's sister, Lynn Hains
Geoff's brothers, Ken, Charles and David Hart"
