Missing Radioactive Material Found In FW

(CBS 11 News)

An X-ray device missing since late Monday was found by a man on the side of the road.

Fort Worth HAZMAT crews spent most of the night looking for the part to an industrial X-ray camera along an eight-mile stretch along Highway 1154 and Blue Mound Road.

Officials said no radiation leaked out of the container, which was clearly marked as "Radioactive." They believe the device fell from the back of a truck transporting supplies.

According to reports, a man noticed the box on the side of the road and took it home.

The man's wife called authorities.

Police are waiting at the house for the company that owns the truck to pick up the device.
