DPD Releases Video Of Rape, Robbery Suspect

DALLAS (CBS 11 News) ― Dallas police have released new photos and video that could help catch a pair of sexual assault suspects.

The video shows one of two men believed to be involved in the rape and robbery of a woman near the White Rock Lake area last week.

The suspect in the video is a black male, 25 to 30-years-old. He is said to be 5'8" and weighs 140 to 150 pounds. He has brown eyes and very short hair. He was clean shaven at the time the video was taken.

His accomplice is also a black male who is 25-30-years-old. He is 5'10" and weights 160 pounds. He has brown eyes, very short hair and was also clean shaven at the time of the incident.

Police are also looking for a 4-door, dark Chevrolet Impala or Caprice. The paint on the driver's side rear door is said to be faded. Two thin white pinstripes go along the length of the vehicle on both sides. The inside of the car is tan or light brown and the gear shift is between the two front seats. The car also has a bright brake light on the rear window dash board.

The video was taken at a convince store near the intersection of Camp Wisdom and South R.L. Thorton Freeway. It shows the man who police say was responsible for the kidnapping of a woman at an apartment complex in the 7000 block of La Vista Dr. last week.

The 51-year-old woman says she was taken into a car, forced to drive to an ATM and she was raped and assaulted by the men before being released in South Dallas.

Police say the man was seen on the video using her ATM card soon after the crime. Police cannot conclusively say if he is responsible for the rape and the robbery, but they do want to question the man.

Police say the two men may also be responsible for two other driveway robberies last week in Oak Cliff and Southeast Dallas. In those cases, the victims were men who were abducted and forced to drive to an ATM.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 214-373-TIPS.
