A Kaufman County escapee is back behind bars after he stole a car and lead authorities on a multi-city chase this morning.
Robert Odell of Navarro County was at Presbyterian Hospital in Kaufman when he escaped from a deputy. Odell is a considered a contract prisoner, one who is sent to another county's facility because of overcrowding, said Sgt. Richard Gaddis with the Kaufman County Sheriff's department.
Odell is being held in their jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
