Sex Offender Arrested At Arlington Park

ARLINGTON (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Police arrested a registered sex offender Wednesday evening at a park in Arlington.

They say 41-year-old Troy Lee Smith, III grabbed a 4-year-old in the groin area at Vandergriff Park on Matlock Road. The boy's family was able to push the man way.

But police say Smith then began to strip off all of his clothes in front of the parents and child.

Once police arrived, they had to Taser Smith to get him into custody. He was taken to JPS for a medical evaluation before being taken to Arlington Jail. He's charged with indecency with a child.
