A gunman shot and killed 33 people and injured 26 at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. This is the deadliest shooting rampage in U. S. history.
The shooting hits close to many North Texans. The local Virginia Tech alumni association boasts more than a thousand members in the Dallas area.
One Highland Village family has two nephews who attend the school. One of them was inside a classroom when he was shot. The student is in stable condition.
