Storm Damages Houses, Apartments In Lewisville

LEWISVILLE (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― The heavy storms that pounded North Texas Wednesday and Thursday caused damage all over the metro area.

Lewisville was one of the hardest-hit areas.  A wall collapsed at the Villas at Waterchase apartment complex at Old Orchard and Main Street, damaging several apartments and forcing 16 families out of their units.

Another apartment complex in Lewisville sustained damage to its chimney stacks.  Those families must also find another place to stay until repairs can be completed.

In the same area, fences, trees and childrens' swingsets were also damaged.

The storm ripped the roof of an auto repair business and blew it into Jonas Suni's fence.  "Our dad said the City Garage over there flew off and into our house," he said.

Despite the damage, no injuries have been reported in Lewisville.
