TABC Investigating After Deadly Dallas Crash

DALLAS (CBS 11 News) ― Today we're learning more about what happened before the alleged DWI accident that killed a newlywed couple early Monday morning.

The family of one of the victims says the alleged drunk driver was partying at a popular Dallas night club just hours before the deadly accident.

The alleged drunk driver, Uriel Palacios, was at Club 2001 according to the family of the woman who was riding with him.

Elias Rosales says his daughter Erika met Palacios for the first time at the club.  He says they were drinking together.  And he wants to know if the club served his daughter alcohol, knowing she was underage and already drunk.

Speaking to us in Spanish, he said, "When a person has too much to drink, they shouldn't get served."

When we went to Club 2001's office, an employee who wouldn't give us his name or title said they are looking into what happened.

"We don't have any information on this situation," he said.

Asked what situation he was talking about, he said, "Palacios."

I asked if Palacios was at the club the night of the wreck.  The employee said, "We are investigating what's going on.  We have no information."

Then I asked if Erika Rosales was there that night.  "I don't know," was the reply.

Today the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission said it is investigating a local business as a result of the fatal crash on Monday.  But spokesman Jeff Gladden refused to name which business.

Palacios is in the hospital, under arrest.  As we have reported, he has a lengthy criminal record.

His passenger, Erika Rosales, is still in critical condition, but her family says she is making small improvements.

The funeral for the newlyweds who were killed in the wreck, 24-year-old Ericka and 23-year-old German Clouet, was held this morning in Irving.
