Officials say the deadly wildfires that raged across North Central Texas earlier this month burned about a thousand miles of fencing that will cost $10 million to replace.
Three people died, numerous homes were destroyed and rangeland and pastures were devastated in the fires that charred 45,000 acres April 9 and 10 in Montague County.
The estimate to replace the destroyed fencing was about $10 million, officials with the Texas AgriLife Extension Service said in a news release Wednesday.
Wildfires burned nearly 200,000 acres in Montague County and surrounding counties during in mid-April. Timely rains aided firefighters on Easter weekend.
