Swingers Club Owners To Announce Legal Action
DUNCANVILLE (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ―
The driveway between the second and third "No Parking Sign" leads the way to the swingers club called the "The Cherry Pit."
From time to time cars were spotted heading into the home where the club is located.
On Saturday, they hosted the last legal party before going head-to-head with the law.
Billed as a fundraiser of sorts for a legal defense fund for the club.
While not sitting for an interview, club sponsors said they have an attorney and hope to announce legal steps to block the city on Monday.
This week, the council passed an ordinance banning the club.
Owners call the sex consensual and optional. They stressed it is not a business -- although donations are strongly encouraged.
Nearby residents Josh Kavanagh and Tim Neal are students at Dallas Baptist University.
They think the city's action against the club is correct.
"Obviously it's a terrible situation and I wish it wasn't here," Kavanagh said.
Neal agreed, however, somewhat understood the club's desire for legal action.
"You have to consider their civil rights," he said.
