Tornado Watch For Metro; Storm Damage To The West
FORT WORTH (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ―
The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Tornado Watch for parts of
North Texas until 11pm. Dallas, Tarrant, Collin and Denton Counties
are all included in the watch area.
Storm is taking on more of a damaging wind threat with gust front similar to what we saw on Wednesday in the Hood, Johnson and Somerveil County area. Large hail remains a threat too.
Late in the afternoon, storms started developing along a line from Jacksboro south through Mineral Wells.
Spotters reported tornadoes in Jack and Parker Counties.
There are sporadic reports of damage from those areas, but no injuries have been reported.
SATURDAY: Look for partly cloudy skies again with a few storms possible by afternoon. This time, the dryline to our west will be a bit more active. The best chance for seeing thunderstorms will be north and west of the DFW Metro area. Chance of storms is at 20 percent. Areas from DFW northwestward are included in a Slight Risk for severe thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon and evening. Look for a high temperature near 96 degrees.
SUNDAY: We could see a few lingering storms early Sunday, then partly cloudy and hot. Look for a high temperature near 96 degrees.
