New Web Site Marketed As MySpace For Babies

A new Web site is growing in popularity in North Texas.
TotSpot.com is marketed as the Facebook.com or Myspace.com for babies.
Mother's like Angie Kanter of Collin County are hooked. The mother of two logs on the social networking site and digitizes her kid's milestones.
"Her first smiles, all her pictures, they're on there," she said about her little girl Abagail. "It's a really good way for me not to sit down with a pen and a baby book to keep track off."
The social networking site was launched in June. It targets parents who want to create online baby books and share them with friends and family.
TotSpot.com was founded by Michael Broukhim and Adam Katz. The two Harvard graduates and close friends were inspired by their own families.
"I remember my family sharing a lot of things about the kids by e-mail, and so we thought there has got to be a better way to do this," said Broukhim.
The creators insist the site is safe and very private. "Unless the parent invites someone to the site, no one can get access to the content that the parents put up there," said Broukhim.
For working mothers like Kanter,
TotSpot.com is perfect.
Kanter also has a 4-year-old and admits she doesn't remember everything he did. "I just want them to appreciate it," Kanter said.
