Suspected Drunk Driver Crashes Into Wal-Mart Store

FORT WORTH (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― A Wal-Mart employee is recovering after getting an unexpected scare - a car plowing through the front door.

It all happened Thursday morning at the Wal-Mart in the 8400 block of Anderson Boulevard, near Interstate-30 and Eastchase.

Police say 22-year-old Seinko Theinkang was intoxicated and driving erratically, weaving in and out of the lanes in the store parking lot, when he smashed his car straight through the doors.

The man's car came to rest about 50-feet inside the store. Wal-Mart employee Charlene Williams was working as a greeter at the door and had to jump out of the way of the car.  In a telephone interview Williams said she was shaken and has cuts on her head and nose, from the flying shards of glass.  Williams was treated at the scene and is doing well.

As for Theinkang, police say his bizarre behavior continued in parking lot. "He bailed out of his car and fled on foot," explained Officer Abby Bounds with the Fort Worth Police Department. "He either jumped into the back on the truck or jumped on the truck, but they [the driver and passenger] thought he was trying to carjack them because he was beating on the windows. So they ended up going around the parking lot and crashing."

Despite crashing, the driver of the truck wasn't injured, but six other vehicles were damaged in the incident.

The suspected drunk driver was taken to a local hospital and now faces a number of charges including a Driving While Intoxicated charge.
