Dallas Mavericks center Erick Dampier has been taken to a hospital in the Detroit area after becoming ill.
Dampier was out for Sunday's game against the Detroit Pistons.
The Mavericks said Dampier became ill before the game, and was taken to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital for further tests. He was accompanied by Mavericks trainer Casey Smith.
Sunday night the Dallas Mavericks said Dampier's symptoms have subsided, but he will stay in Detroit for further testing. Dampier will not travel with the Mavericks to their next game, Monday night in Milwaukee.
The Mavericks will next be home at the American Airlines Center Wednesday night against the Spurs.
