Nowitzki's Season-High 46 Lead Mavs Over Thunder

DALLAS (AP) ― Dirk Nowitzki scored a season-high 46 points, Jason Terry added 28 and the Dallas Mavericks won for the 11th time in 13 games, beating the Oklahoma City Thunder 103-99 on Saturday night.

Oklahoma City (2-22) has the worst record in the NBA and dropped its sixth straight despite leading most of the game.

Nowitzki, who was 17-of-30 from the floor, tied his career high for field goals made in a game. It was his ninth 40-point game and third-highest total of his career.

Jeff Green scored 25 points and Kevin Durant added 22, but none in the fourth quarter. Rookie Russell Westbrook chipped in with 19 points and eight rebounds for the Thunder, who are 1-11 on the road.

  • TONIGHT'S KEY RUN: Okla. City led 91-89 with 5:36 to play. Then Dallas used a 14-6 run through the 12.3 second mark of the period to take a 103-97 lead.

  • Dirk Nowitzki scored a season-high 46 points (17-30 FGs, 2-4 3FGs, 10-10 FTs). It was his first 40-point game since he had 43 points @ IND (1/12/07), his 5th 35+ point game of the 2008-09 season (most in the Western Conference) and the 9th 40-point game of his career. (previous season-high was 39 points, twice)
  • Nowitzki's 17 FGMs tie a career mark (also vs. PHO, 12/4/08).
  • Jason Terry scored 28 points (13-21 FGs, 2-5 3FGs). Over the last 2 games, he is averaging 27.0 points, 5.0 assists and 1.5 steals. For the 5th game this season, Terry hit at least 12 shots from the field.
  • Dallas improved to 4-2 when shooting at least 50% from the field. The Mavericks hit 50.6% of their shots (41-81 FGs). No opponent has shot better than 50% against the Mavericks this season.
  • Kevin Durant came away with a career-high 5 steals. (previous was 4, 3 times)
  • Jeff Green tied his season-high with 25 points (10-16 FGs, 1-2 3FGs, 4-5 FTs). He also had 25 vs. ORL (11/12).
  • Tonight's attendance was 20,190 fans (19,200 capacity). The Mavs have sold out 288 consecutive regular season games at AAC and 346 games including the pre and postseasons. Dallas currently owns the longest running sellout streak in the NBA. The Sacramento Kings previously held the streak.
