NBA D-League Team Moving To Frisco

FRISCO, Texas (AP) ― Dallas Mavericks executive Donnie Nelson is bringing an NBA Developmental League team from Colorado to suburban Dallas.

Nelson, the Mavericks' president of basketball operations and general manager, announced Thursday that the Colorado 14ers will move to Frisco after next season. The franchise will not play next season but will in 2010-11.

The club will be affiliated with up to three NBA teams when it begins play.

Nelson's ownership group also includes Evan Wyly, the chairman of Green Mountain Energy. Colorado 14ers owner Tim Wiens will retain minority ownership.

The club's nickname, colors and logo have not been set.
