One person was killed and seven were injured after a dorm collapse at Rice University in Houston Thursday afternoon, CBS affiliate KHOU reported.

According to KHOU, the collapse happened at a new dormitory that was under construction. A second-floor wall collapsed without warning.

According to KHOU, firefighters rescued at least four people who were trapped in the second-floor rubble, lowering them to the ground on gurneys.
