Poisoned Fort Worth Dog Makes Full Recovery

FORT WORTH (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Lourdes Radelat's giant schnauzer Mia is back on her feet, acting like herself again after allegedly being poisoned.

The veterinarian believed Mia was likely poisoned with liquid Tylenol.

Unfortunately, Radalat is unemployed and couldn't afford the $3,500 it was going to cost to treat Mia at the animal hospital.

But after seeing the story, dozens of CBS 11 viewers called the Fort Worth woman offering to help.

"Not even 10 minutes after it aired, my phone was ringing at home," she said. "There was one young couple who said that they would pay for everything."

Thanks to those Good Samaritans, Mia went immediately to an animal medical center and received the injections and treatment she needed.

Mia is still on a lot of medicine, and the extent of her liver damage is not yet known. But she is drinking and eating on her own and getting stronger everyday.

Despite the good news, this case is still unsolved. Anyone with information about who may have poisoned Mia is asked to call the Fort Worth Police Department.
