Texas SPCA Has Custody Of 83 Rescued Dogs

MARSHALL (AP) ―

A judge in Marshall has placed 83 rescued dogs with the SPCA of Texas.

The ruling Wednesday involves dogs removed from a property near Lone Star, about 60 miles southwest of Texarkana, on July 10.

The SPCA says the dogs did not have adequate water or shelter and some were sick.

Law officers helped remove the dogs, which have been transported to the Perry Animal Care Center in McKinney.

The SPCA says a woman believed to have been staying at the site was detained, pending an investigation into whether she unlawfully was living in a trailer on the property.
