Woman Horrified By Kittens Thrown From Truck
ROCKWALL (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ―
A Rockwall woman says she was horrified when she saw someone trying to kill some kittens in the middle of downtown Rockwall.
She hopes the information from this story helps catch the ones who did it.
Jeanette Linder is a true animal lover. Her spacious house is filled with paintings and statuettes of eagles, leopards and horses.
So the image of cruelty inflicted upon a couple of kittens is difficult for Jeanette to forget.
"It looked like this one," Jeanette said as she pointed to a picture of some orange tabbies on google images.
"They were bright orange tabbies and they had little thin legs," Jeanette said.
Jeanette says she witnessed someone slamming them onto the pavement at a busy intersection.
"I felt this is a world without meaning and I am witnessing a murder," Jeanette said.
Jeanette says she was driving toward the intersection of Goliad and Washington around 2:30 Thursday afternoon. There was a red pick-up truck in front of her. The passenger door opened and Jeanette saw "two or three tiny, orange, tabby kittens were thrown out by hand from the truck." to Jeanette, the intent was clear.
"To be absolutely certain those kittens would be instantly killed," Jeanette said.
One kitten was.
Jeanette couldn't catch the license plate but noticed the extra chrome on the back of the pickup. She called police who called an animal rescue group. None of them found the other kitten.
Jeanette hopes the kitten that ran off finds a home and whoever threw them out is found out.
"I feel the people that did it are insane. That's the frightening part. Because, what else are they killing?" Jeanette wondered.
