Pit Bulls Terrorizing Dallas Neighborhood

Marianne Martinez
DALLAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Residents of the Preston Royal neighborhood in Dallas say they're afraid to go outside after a pit bull allegedly attacked two people and their dog. Some are even passing out fliers, warning others about the attacks.

The first attack happened March 30. Debbie O'Connor said she was walking her dog when the pit bulls got loose and started biting her dog's neck.

The dogs also bit her finger. After the attack the dogs were quarantined.

But after being released, the dogs allegedly attacked a man and his dog Saturday.

The man received stitches and puncture wounds. The dog also had stitches.

Animal control has quarantined the pit bulls again, but some say that is not enough.

"It's the second time in a month. I think they need to be put down," said O'Conner. "Dogs that attack once certainly shouldn't be in a neighborhood full of children."

Several residents in the neighborhood are going to a hearing this Tuesday to ask the city to declare the dogs dangerous.

The owners of the dogs could not be reached for a comment.
