Roanoke Police Investigate Animal Cruelty

ROANOKE (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Roanoke Police are looking for the person who left a puppy to die in a cage on the side of a road today.

Police say Monday morning at about 7:45 a Roanoke resident saw a black wire cage sitting alongside the road in the 600 block of Litsey.

The body of a Boston Terrier puppy with brindle markings was in the cage, laying on a small pillow.

Police say the dog died from the heat.  They also say the puppy was malnourished.

Officers say the dog was approximately 10 weeks old.  It was wearing a blue collar with no tags.

If you have any information about the dog, Roanoke Police ask you to call them at 817.491.6052 or email them at calmonrode@roanokepolice.com.
