CBS' Bob Schieffer To Host Presidential Debate

'Face The Nation' Host To Helm Final Debate on Oct. 15 From Hofstra University

WASHINGTON (CBS) ― Bob Schieffer, host of CBS 'Face The Nation' will host the final Presidential Debate on Oct. 15 from Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y., according to a press release from the non-partisan Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD).

Other hosts include, PBS' Jim Lehrer and Gwen Ifill and NBC's Tom Brokaw.

ABC News will not be hosting a debate.

Each debate will have a single moderator and last for 90 minutes. In the first and third presidential debates and the vice presidential debate, the candidates will be seated with the moderator at a table.

The second presidential debate will be held as a town meeting in which citizens will pose questions to the candidates.

Here is the debate schedule:

First presidential debate
Friday, Sept. 26, at Ole Miss
Jim Lehrer, Anchor, The NewsHour, PBS

Vice presidential debate
Thursday, Oct. 2, Washington University in St. Louis, Mo.
Gwen Ifill, Moderator, Washington Week, PBS

Second presidential debate (town meeting)
Tuesday, Oct. 7, Belmont University, Nashville, Tenn.
Tom Brokaw, Special Correspondent, NBC News

Third presidential debate
Wednesday, Oct. 15, Hofstra University, Hempstead, N.Y.
Bob Schieffer, Host, Face the Nation, CBS News

Each debate will begin at 9:00 p.m. ET.
