TXA 21 Named New Home Of The Rangers
ARLINGTON (TXA 21 News) ―
TXA 21 has entered into a five-year contract with the Texas Rangers to broadcast 25 regular season games per season beginning in 2010.
The "Texas Rangers Game of the Week" broadcasts will air Friday nights on TXA 21 and is expected to include extensive pre and post-game coverage. In addition, TXA 21 will air select Rangers spring training games.
"We're proud to be the new over-the-air home of the Texas Rangers beginning in 2010," said CBS 11 and TXA 21 President and General Manager Steve Mauldin. "We believe in this franchise, and the Game of the Week is a natural fit with our
First in Prime news, the high school game of the week, Big 12 sports, SEC football, the Dallas Mavericks, and our other great local programming. This is an exciting time to begin a new chapter -- and a new tradition for TXA 21 and Rangers fans."
"The Rangers are very happy to enter into this agreement with TXA 21," commented team President Nolan Ryan. "We feel strongly that it is important for us to maintain an over-the-air television presence for our games, and TXA 21 will be a great partner in accomplishing this. The ability to have more spring training telecasts is also attractive to us."
