A little girl is capturing the hearts of people from Aledo to Baltimore. On June 11, 2008, doctors removed part of Jessie Hall's brain in a day-long surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. The 6-year-old was diagnosed with Rasmussen's encephalitis, a rare brain disease, in the fall 2007.

This photo was posted on the Hall Family blog showing Kristi Hall sitting at her daughter's side post surgery. Doctors said the prodcedure to remove about half of the girl's diseased brain was successful. Jessie will remain in a drug-induced coma for a while.
