Triple digit temperatures did not deter people from attending and enjoying the 2008 National Day of the American Cowboy in the
Fort Worth Stockyards. Gary Brinkley, General Manager of
Stockyards Station, was concerned that high temperatures would limit attendance so he ordered new tents and misting fans to cool people down. He was later pleased to report more than 6,000 people attended this year's festivities.
