Dysentery, epiglottitis (strep infection of the larynx), hearing loss, infertility, malaria, smallpox, tuberculosis, tooth loss, pneumonia, presbyopia (inability of the eye to focus on close objects), quinsy (inflammation of the tonsils and surrounding tissue). (CBS)
