Cowboys Want NCAA Final Four At New Stadium

DALLAS (AP) ― The Dallas Cowboys want to add the NCAA Final Four to the list of high-profile events lining up for its new billion-dollar stadium.

Spokesman Brett Daniels said team officials will notify the NCAA this week of their intention to bid for college basketball's men's national championship. Bid intentions are due Wednesday and completed bids are due in June, the NCAA has said.

NCAA is taking bids for the Division I Men's and Women's tournaments for 2012 through 2016, but Daniels said he knew of no plans to seek the women's tournament.

The stadium with a retractable roof in Arlington is scheduled to open for the Cowboys' 2009 season. The team has already booked the Super Bowl for 2011. The Cotton Bowl will move there in 2010.

Dallas last hosted the Final Four in 1986 at Reunion Arena.
