Cowboys Lose Kosier & Jenkins For Thanksgiving
IRVING (AP) ―
The Dallas Cowboys will be without left guard Kyle Kosier and rookie cornerback Mike Jenkins against the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday.
Kosier continues to have problems with a foot injury that kept him out of eight of the first nine games. He returned after the bye week and played a full game against Washington, but couldn't make it through a victory over San Francisco on Sunday.
Coach Wade Phillips said Monday that Kosier is going to another doctor and may not play again this season. Dallas is 3-0 in the games Kosier has started, 4-4 in the games he's missed. Cory Procter will replace him, as he did in the eight games Kosier was out.
Jenkins hurt a hamstring against the 49ers. He wasn't starting, so another reserve will inherit his roles.
Phillips said cornerback Terence Newman, tight end Jason Witten and safety Pat Watkins all played through injuries and should be ready to face the Seahawks.
"Pat Watkins got banged up a little bit and is still undetermined where he will be this week," Phillips said. "He thinks he is going to play. We'll see."
Witten was hit hard and shaken up, but returned during the game. He's also playing with a broken rib.
Newman was a game-time decision because of a flareup with a groin problem that's cost him much of this season. He said he didn't expect to play when he arrived at the stadium, but felt good enough during warm-ups that he decided to give it a try.
He said Monday he's planning to stay in the lineup.
"Oh, I am playing Thursday," he said. "The show must go on."
