Stars Make Qualifying Offers To 6 Free Agents

DALLAS (AP) ― Left wing Loui Eriksson is one of six restricted free agents who received qualifying offers today from the Dallas Stars.

The Stars also extended qualifying offers to right wings B.J. Crombeen, Vojetch Polak and Konstantin Pushkarev, defenseman Vadim Khomitski and left wing Francis Wathier.

The qualifying offers, which expire July 15th, ensure that those players who re-sign with the Stars will receive raises.

The team also has the right of first refusal or draft choice compensation should any of the players sign offer sheets with other NHL clubs.

Eriksson was the team's second-round pick in 2003.

He scored 31 points (14 goals, 17 assists) in 69 regular-season games for the Stars before adding four goals and four assists in 18 playoff games this spring.

Crombeen, also chosen in the second round in 2003, played in five regular season games and eight post-season games last season.

Qualifying offers weren't extended to right wing Marius Holtet, defenseman Jussi Timonen and left wing Janos Vas. They are eligible to become unrestricted free agents Tuesday, and can sign with any team without compensation to the Stars.
