Stars Grab Defenseman Doug Janik From Chicago

The Dallas Stars have claimed defenseman Doug Janik off waivers from Chicago.
The Stars on Thursday announced the deal for the 28-year-old Janik, who on July 15 signed a free agent contract with the Blackhawks.
The 6-2, 209-pound defenseman spent the last two seasons with Tampa Bay, skating in 136 games and registering 15 points (3 goals, 12 assists) with 98 penalty minutes.
Janik appeared in 10 games with the Buffalo Sabres from 2002-04. He has 15 points (3 goals, 12 assists) and 119 penalty minutes in 146 career NHL games.
Janik was drafted by Buffalo in the second round of the 1999 entry draft.
