Carolina Hurricanes center Brandon Sutter was discharged from a New York hospital on Sunday after sustaining a concussion a night earlier during a game against the New York Islanders.
The 19-year-old Sutter spent Saturday night in the hospital after he was leveled by a hard, clean check from New York's Doug Weight in the Hurricanes' 4-3 victory.
The news wasn't as good for Carolina defenseman Joni Pitkanen, who was also injured Saturday and will be out for a month. Pitkanen tore the meniscus in a knee and will undergo surgery next week.
