Saving Money On Bills Can Start With A Seed
ARLINGTON (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ―
Are you looking to cut costs on your grocery bill? How about spending less on electricity and water bills? You can achieve both by looking no further than your very own garden. At the All Texas Garden Show in Arlington, people are taking an organic approach to cutting costs around the house.
Trimming your grocery bill could start with a simple seed. Within a few weeks, experts say, your garden will yield produce and savings.
And recycling rainwater can do more than help the environment. It can also water your lawn. You can set up a filter that turns the water from Mother Nature into a viable and usable source both in and outside the home.
No matter what time of year, electricity bills generate a huge expense. Try using buffer brush to shade your home and spare your pocketbook.
It's savings made simple, the way nature intended.
"We are really trying to help people take back control," said Leslie Finical Halleck with North Haven Gardens. "Save a little money on their grocery bills, feel like they have control, vegetable gardening is really booming right now."
It only takes an initial investment of at least $50 to start a garden. And a sophisticated rainwater recycle system will set you back a few thousand dollars. But once you make the investment, you'll see savings for years to come.
