Deer Run Through Beer Store

GREENSBURG, Pa. (CBS) ― A family of deer that ran into a beer store sent employees scrambling.

It happened last Friday near closing time at the Beer Arena in Greensburg, Pa.

The front door was left open and the deer ran inside.

Tony Shadler was checking out a customer at the cash register when it happened. He ran to get out of their way.

"Because I almost got hit by one of them – they went up the center," he told CBS station KDKA-TV.

Although the trio ran through the entire store, they never touched a drop.

"I've been here as early as six in the morning and I've been here as late as 12, one o'clock in the morning and never seen deer in the parking lot," Michael Turcan, the store's owner, said. "But when they called me on Friday night and told me there was deer in the store, I just couldn't believe it."

The deer managed to find their way out through a back door.

Employees say the next time the deer come looking for beer, the door will be closed.
