Distracted Bus Driver Caught On Video

BOSTON (CBS) ― A troubling video on YouTube shows a Peter Pan bus driver shirking his duty. 

A passenger on the bus shot video of the unidentified driver fiddling with his cell phone while driving on a highway last month, reports CBS station WBZ-TV in Boston.

It also shows him taking his hands off the wheel tearing bus tickets, while he was driving dozens of passengers from Boston to New York City.

A Peter Pan manager told WBZ Radio that the driver did break company rules and has been punished. 

"We find that type of behavior unsafe, nor do we condone it in any way,"  said Chris Crean, the company's vice president of public safety.

"As of yesterday, the driver was relieved of his duties.  We have put him on what we call an investigative suspension and we will be doing a disciplinary hearing probably later this week."

The driver could be fired.
 
The passenger, Shelomo Alfassa of Brooklyn, New York, posted the video and contacted the Boston Globe after he claimed no one at Peter Pan responded to his complaints about the driver.
