Boy, 3, Forced To Unclog Toilet At Calif. Daycare

LODI, Calif. (CBS) ― A couple is suing a Lodi, Calif. preschool for punishing their 3-year-old son by making him unclog an overflowing toilet, CBS station KOVR-TV reports.

John and Nicole Stout of Galt filed the suit in San Joaquin County Superior Court against the Lodi Day Nursery School, which is run by Bethel Church.

John Stout says he arrived at the school to get his son and he was horrified to see the child struggling to unclog the toilet.

"He would rather hold it in then be faced with the same situation of clogging the toilet and undergo the same punishment again," said the Stout's attorney Rando Rodriquez.

They claim the boy suffered physical and emotional trauma from the December 2007 incident.

The nursery school's attorney didn't return our calls for comment but in court documents the school denied every allegation.
