Showers are continuing to our south and west, with a few areas of light rain spreading into Hood County, Johnson County and Ellis County. There are also a few sprinkles and very light showers in parts of Tarrant County.
The heaviest rain is from Eastland to Brownwood to Hamilton to Waco. The best opportunity for rain Tuesday afternoon and evening will be in the areas south of I-20.
Cloud cover over Dallas and Fort Worth have kept temperatures in the 80s, but if you were to travel to McKinney, where they are seeing sunshine, the temperature is 93 degrees. Head to Paris and the sun has warmed the area to 97 degrees.
The clouds will likely hold firm over both Dallas County and Tarrant County, allowing temperatures to only rise into the low 90s.
Tuesday Night: The weak front that sparked a few thunderstorms in Oklahoma is drifting toward the Red River. There is also a weak upper level disturbance heading toward North Texas. These two features could be enough to spark a few isolated showers and storms overnight. The best prospect for rain is north of I-20 and, more specifically, north and east of Dallas. I will put the rain chance at about 20 percent in Dallas and Fort Worth. Temperatures will drop into the mid-70s.
Wednesday: Partly to mostly sunny skies with a stray thunderstorm possible. Rain coverage will be low at 20 percent. Expect a high temperature of 97 degrees.
Thursday Through Saturday: Still looking hot and dry, with temperatures in the upper 90s.
Sunday: A small chance of storms with temperatures in the mid-to-upper 90s.
