Passing Storms Help Cool Down North Texas

Temperatures The Coolest Since Late May

FORT WORTH (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― A strong surge of cooler air is in the process of working into North Texas. At the same time, an upper level low is centered over eastern Colorado. That will keep us cloudy, with the chance of off-and-on showers and a few storms on Tuesday.

The showers will be fast-moving and brief, and will not be as strong as Monday night's storms.

With a north wind on Tuesday, temperatures will stay in the 70s for highs. Even though we won't see any sun for the first day of autumn, it will be a pleasant change in temperature.

Fall officially begins at 4:18 p.m. CDT.

Skies will stay mostly cloudy through Tuesday night and temperatures will fall into the mid-to-upper 50s by Wednesday morning. If the clouds thin out a bit in your neighborhood, temperatures will be even cooler!

Mostly cloudy skies continue Wednesday with that upper low still up in the Colorado and Kansas area. There could be an isolated shower as well.

Still mild Wednesday with a high temperature near 76 degrees.

Cloudy still on Thursday, and a slightly better chance for more showers. Look for 30 percent rain coverage with another upper air disturbance, and high temperatures in the upper 70s.
