Quite a bit of clouds, light fog and drizzle on Monday morning. There is currently a warm front draped across south Texas that will begin to glide to the north as the day wears on. Moist, warm wind blowing up and over our shallow layer of cool air at the surface is producing all the dreariness.
There will be a few lighter showers Monday and maybe a couple of thunderstorms in our forecast during the day, about 30 percent coverage. But we're not expecting any severe weather for Monday. Temperatures will struggle to get to around 70 degrees by afternoon.
As the warm front draws closer and moves through our area, look for temperatures to not cool down at all overnight. In fact, our Tuesday morning temperature should be near 70. A few showers and thunderstorms are still possible overnight, 30 percent coverage.
We will be on the warm and humid side of that warm front as it moves into Oklahoma and Arkansas on Tuesday. This will lead to a very unstable air mass over North Texas.
As another upper disturbance and cold front roll toward us from the west during the day, thunderstorms should explode. There is a Slight Risk for severe weather for all of North Texas on Tuesday. We could see large hail and damaging winds, along with the possibility of very heavy rainfall leading to flash flooding in places.
Looks like we could see storms form as early as midday Tuesday and linger into the late evening hours. Coverage of rain will be around 60 percent. Expect a high temperature near 85 degrees. Look for scattered storms to continue Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
We should see a lull in the activity by late Wednesday morning. Behind the cold front, temperatures will once again be mild. Look for lows near 60 degrees and a high temperature Wednesday near 70 degrees.
A cold front will, yet again, approach during Thursday afternoon and produce a good chance of strong thunderstorms lingering into Friday morning. We will see rapid clearing by midday Friday, leaving us with the first big taste of sunshine all week!
High temperatures on Thursday should be near 86 degrees, falling into the lower 70s for on Friday. Rain chances will be near 70 percent on Thursday afternoon and into Friday morning.
